Mencap Arts - Youth Arts Consultation Report

May 10th, 2010  |  Published in Uncategorized

Mencap Arts has just published a report of its two year arts consultation with young people with a learning disability (aged 13-19).

Produced in partnership with Arts Council England, the consultation found that it is much harder for young people with a learning disability to access the arts than their peers and makes a number of recommendations for improvements.

As well as looking at young people’s leisure aspirations and the barriers they face in fully participating in arts provision it contains information about arts activities available to young people with a learning disability. For the full report, log onto

More support for the Campaign for Creativity

April 15th, 2009  |  Published in News

The Community Sector Coalition (CSC) has thrown its support behind the Campaign for Creativity, a new project for anyone who wants to encourage more people to take part in the arts. This campaign has been launched by art + power, an arts organisation that supports disabled and socially excluded people to become empowered through the arts.

The Campaign for Creativity works by matching the goals and aspirations of participants, with the support offered by partners. It welcomes anything you can offer - time, money, practical assistance or even just a word of support - every contribution is valued and helps build a creative community.
