Mediabox, a DCSF fund to enable disadvantaged 13-19 year olds the opportunity to develop and produce creative media projects, has announced that its Mix Mediabox funding scheme will open for applications on the 10th August 2009.

Mix Mediabox grants of £5,000 to £20,000 are available to organisations that bring together young people from diverse economic backgrounds, faiths or geographic areas to work on a media project. This grant scheme supports projects that enable young people to work with older members of their community, to create media projects that encourage communities to gain a better understanding of each other and promote community cohesion.

In addition funding is also currently available through the Mini Mediabox scheme. This provides grants of £1,000 to £5,000 and is open to grassroots and community youth organisations for youth led media projects.
